A professional gutter clear begins with a safety assessment of the property and access requirements. Ladders are positioned safely on firm ground and stabilised before anyone climbs them. We work along the gutters methodically, removing all debris — leaves, moss, silt, twigs, and anything else that has accumulated — into bags for responsible disposal.
Once the gutters are cleared of debris, the downpipes are tested by pouring water into the gutter at the highest point and watching it flow to the downpipe outlet. If the downpipe is blocked, we use high-pressure jetting to clear it. A blocked downpipe is sometimes the cause of overflowing gutters even when the gutter run itself appears clear.
After the clear, we do a final visual inspection of the gutter joints and fixings. It's common to spot loose gutter brackets, cracked gutter sections, or displaced joints during a clear. We don't carry out repairs ourselves but we'll point out anything that needs attention so you can arrange for it to be fixed before it causes a problem.
