When Do Fascias and Soffits Need Cleaning?

Green streaks or a generally green tinge to your fascias and soffits is the most obvious sign that algae has taken hold. This is particularly common on north-facing or shaded elevations of the house. The green colouring is unmistakable and indicates that cleaning is overdue — the longer the algae is left, the harder it becomes to remove.

Brown or black staining below the gutters, running down the fascias, indicates that water is overflowing from blocked gutters and staining the fascia below.
